From the Women’s Association for Morristown Medical Center:
The Women’s Association for Morristown Medical Center (WAMMC) is pleased to announce that Susan Cohan, principal and design director of Susan Cohan Gardens, has graciously agreed to create the Master Plan for the Landscape Design for Three Fields, the site of Mansion in May 2023.
Susan Cohan brings her award-winning expertise to develop the master plan that will enable many prominent landscape design firms to transform the grounds of this Mendham Borough country estate.
For Mansion in May 2023, Susan Cohan’s master plan includes delineating the landscape design spaces for the garden tour and helping develop the logistics plan for important operational needs which are invaluable to the success of the event.
“To date, Susan has participated in seven Mansion in May projects, and we truly appreciate her consistent dedication to our fundraising efforts for Morristown Medical Center,” said Michelle Meszaros, co-chair, Mansion in May Landscape Design Committee.
“The completed gardens will showcase the beauty of this elegant country estate. Susan’s generous contributions to the upcoming Mansion in May will certainly make the grounds a ‘must see’ visitor experience.”
“Many of the early 20th century estate properties are disappearing to suburban development. Three Fields is one of the most intact estate homes I’ve seen. The home is an excellent example of Tudor Revival and has amazing views as well as the bones of what was before. In my design practice we try to honor those elements and create spaces that also work for contemporary living,” said Cohan.
“Mansion in May allows others to experience that and is an important force in respecting and preserving Morris County’s country estate legacy.”
Mansion in May is the preeminent designer showhouse in the New Jersey-New York area, attracting more than 33,000 visitors. Three Fields will be open to the public for Mansion in May from May 1 to May 31, 2023.
Funds raised by Mansion in May 2023 will contribute to the expansion and modernization of the Institute of Bioskills Training and Innovation at Morristown Medical Center.
